Hammersmith Academy has developed plans to complete a first floor infill of a double height space above the Academy’s gymnasium. This is to create additional Sixth Form study and teaching space. This will provide sufficient floor space to create two additional classrooms and four smaller spaces, intended for one-to-one interventions and small Sixth Form group teaching.
These internal works do not require planning permission. The intention is to complete the project between July and October 2021.
Before commencing these works, we have consulted with parents, staff, governors, our neighbours and other schools in the borough and invited their feedback on the building proposal and our expansion of Sixth Form numbers to a maximum of 275 (total for Year 12 and Year 13).
The consultation ran from Tuesday, 2nd February to Friday, 26th February 2021 and again from Thursday 17th June to Wednesday 14th July 2021. Details of what we were consulting on can be found below and our formal response to the consultation can be downloaded below.
