Appeals for children refused a place at a preferred school for admission to Year 7 in September 2021 will be heard in line with the School Admissions Appeals Code (2012).
School offers are made on the 1st March 2021.
If you did not receive an offer from Hammersmith Academy, and would like to appeal the decision, the deadline for lodging an appeal is before 4pm on the Friday 16 April 2021.
We expect the Independent Appeal Panel will hear appeals starting the week beginning Monday 10 May 2021 and you will be given details of the appeals arrangements before that date. If you have not received confirmation of receipt of your appeal letter by Friday, 23 April 2021 please contact the Academy.
‘On-time’ appeals will be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals. Appeals lodged after these dates will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline or 30 school days of being lodged, whichever is the later date.
Mid-year appeals must be heard within 30 school days of receipt of the appeal.
Parents/Carers will be notified of their appeal date on or after 3 May 2021 – appeals are expected to be heard in the week beginning Monday 10 May 2021.
Any additional evidence parents/carers wish to submit in support of their appeal must be sent to the external agency at least 5 working days before the hearing. Any evidence not submitted by this deadline may not be considered by the independent appeal panel.
