At Hammersmith Academy we believe that a well-balanced, nutritional diet is hugely important for our students’ learning and development. As such we provide high quality lunches, catering for all dietary requirements. Fresh fruit is available at breakfast, lunch and break time. We have no sugary snacks or fizzy drinks available on site.

Food is prepared fresh each day onsite in our kitchen and each term features a new 3 week rotational menus. Please see the menus for what is on offer as well as any allergen information.

Free School Meals

Students may be eligible for Free School Meals if their parent/carer:

  • receives income support or
  • receives income based job seekers allowance or
  • receives income related employment and support allowance or
  • receives guaranteed pension credit or
  • are supported under the national asylum seekers support system (NASS) or
  • are receiving child tax credit, but not working tax credit and have an annual taxable income of less than £16,190.

We encourage parents to claim for Free School Meals even if your child does not want one every day, as the Academy receives an extra payment in the form of Pupil Premium for every child that is entitled to Free School Meals.

Students living within the boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, City of Westminster, Brent or Wandsworth can all apply for Free School Meals through the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. If you live in Ealing or Hounslow, or outside the boroughs mentioned, you are required to apply directly to them. However, there are a number of boroughs including Barnet and Camden, who will not process the application if you attend a school outside of the borough in which you live. If this is the case, please contact Ms Linfield in the school office to be sent a link to make a direct application.

Children who received Free School Meals at primary school will continue to receive them at Hammersmith Academy as long as their parent/carer still qualifies for one of the above benefits.

If you think your child is eligible for Free School Meals or a School Clothing Grant, please print out and complete an application form. The form should be returned directly to Hammersmith Town Hall.

Breakfast

At Hammersmith Academy we believe that all students deserve every opportunity to achieve their best. Multiple studies have shown that the odds of achieving an above average educational performance are up to twice as high for students who eat breakfast, compared with those who do not.

To ensure our students get off to the best possible start on a daily basis, the Academy offers breakfast in the cafeteria at a reduced cost.

So why not get your child ready to face a busy day with a HA breakfast!
