Community
We have become an important part of our local community and have worked hard to foster positive and productive relationships with a network of businesses, schools, livery companies and Universities for the benefit of our students.
All have provided invaluable opportunities for our students this year and we will continue to further develop the breadth and depth of this network. As the Academy grows, we will expand these links and develop further opportunities to raise achievement and student aspiration and access to the future world of work and higher education.
The Academy continues to seek strong local links by making its facilities available to community groups and organisations and developing partnerships with other local providers to deliver additional services to the students and the wider community.
Charity
Students are encouraged to take part in a wide range of charitable activities and play their part in social responsibility. Over the last academic year, students have held special sponsored events to raise money for charities such as:
- Comic Relief
- Cancer Research UK
- Save the Children
- Children in Need
Primary Transition
We possess excellent partnerships with local primary schools helping to ensure a smooth transition from primary school and continuity of provision for our new students. This includes visits to schools by our staff, as well as an Induction Day where children get a chance to experience taster lessons and meet other new children.
University Links
The Academy enjoys strong links with many Russell Group and prestigious universities including the:
- University of Oxford
- University of Cambridge
- King’s College London
- Queen Mary University of London
- Imperial College London
- Royal College of Music
