Training

At Hammersmith Academy we ensure our CPD is bespoke to our staff based on levels of experience, expertise and years of teaching. Instead of a one size fits all approach, we work hard to make sure everyone feels like they are being stretched and improving.

Training for ECTs and ITTS

Our ECT provision is delivered using Ambition Schools and in partnership with the Paddington Academy Hub. Further to this, we have a bespoke ‘in house’ ECT programme, to support our trainees working within the school. As a consequence, ECT + ITTs experience holistic support, and build strong networks both within our Academy and in the wider school community.

Experienced Teachers

You can book face-to-face sessions or you can use our library or video clips, articles and online resources. This way, you can pick and mix the training you need, from presentation skills to early language intervention for reception children.

Bespoke training

Our schools develop their own training sessions based on what their people need – a particular school might run a session about how their teachers write lesson plans, or how they implement the school’s curriculum.

Staff Wellbeing

At Hammersmith Academy, we recognise the profound impact of wellbeing on individual and collective success. That’s why we’ve made wellbeing a cornerstone of our culture, establishing a dedicated Staffing & Wellbeing Committee to champion initiatives that promote positive mental health and work environment.

One of our key initiatives is our termly Wellbeing Days, which provide opportunities for employees to step away from their desks and classrooms, engage in rejuvenating activities, and build meaningful connections with colleagues. These days feature a variety of activities, from mindfulness sessions and stress-relieving activities to team-building exercises and social gatherings.

By fostering a culture that nurtures positive mental health, we’re not only investing in the well-being of our employees but also laying the foundation for a more productive, engaged, and innovative workforce.
