World Book Day 2020

6 Mar 2020

This year at Hammersmith Academy, World Book Day was not just one day, but a whole week!

Throughout the week, students were given a daily riddle to solve, all correct answers were put into a raffle and the winning answer got a fun book related prize.

Librarian, Ms Harney, set up craft stations around the library so students could create their own bookmarks using colouring pens, glitter and even some diamond stickers.

The library display “Where Will Reading Take You” got all our students involved designing signposts to exciting book worlds and Ms Harney encouraged students to pick out their favourite books to add to the display.

On Thursday 5th March, officially World Book Day, Ms Harney and her group of library helpers created a Library photobooth full of fun props for students to dress up as their favourite book characters. All students got involved in the fun, making this World Book Day one of the best yet!
