Students review Marvel’s Black Panther for BBC Newsround

28 Feb 2018

Four of our Year 9 students became the envy of their friends when they were selected to review Marvel’s Black Panther for BBC’s Newsround. The much anticipated Marvel movie, held its European premiere at Hammersmith Apollo in February and the Year 9s were invited to attend as guests of the BBC show.

The premiere saw the film’s director introduce the entire cast to the audience and talk about the inspirations behind the film. Ellis, Kemi, Alicia and Lucca were naturally excited to be in attendance and to see the cast in person. They left the event buzzing about the film’s homage to African culture and the representation of women as strong characters.

The following day, Newsround visited the Academy to record their reviews of the film and hear what they rated it out of 5 stars.
Kemi said, “The whole experience is something I will never forget. To have such an anticipated film introduced by the director and cast was incredible to be part of. It was amazing to be on BBC Newsround and to give my review of the film.”
