Parent Info

Parent info

We understand that parents are integral to the success of their children’s education and so we make every effort to communicate and support parents through our first-response administration team and regular interaction with teachers.

Parent Teacher Association – Currently suspended due to Covid

The Hammersmith Academy PTA is an inclusive organisation. All parents and staff at Hammersmith Academy are automatically members, it’s completely up to parents to decide how much they would like to be involved. The PTA is a great way for parents to feel more connected to the Academy, it also raises money in order to enhance the students’ learning experience.

We do not expect our parents to give up large amounts of their time, just attending events is more than enough. The meetings are held twice a term and new members are always welcome. We do not expect members to attend meetings in order to be involved.

If you would like to sign up to the PTA emails please contact us at headspa@hammersmithacademy.org

Parental and Community Involvement – Currently suspended due to Covid

Close working relationships with parents and other community groups are central to the Academy’s success. Parents and other community leaders are actively encouraged to become involved in the full life of the Academy in a variety of ways:

  • Regular parental contact with House Tutors to discuss achievements and set targets for future progress
  • Parents work alongside teachers in the Academy and on visits. Many share skills or expertise in a range of activities from sport to music to hearing children read
  • A Parent and Community Advisory Council of parents and community leaders act as consultants to the Headmaster and Governors over a wide range of issues
  • Parents and carers are expected to support fully and play their part in reinforcing the ethos, values and high expectations of the Academy

Firefly

The Academy’s Virtual Learning Environment, Firefly, is available 24/7. This e-portal gives access to the on-line curriculum and all the tools and information needed to manage and measure learning.

Parent View

We would like to invite all parents and carers to take part in the ‘Parent View’ survey and tell Ofsted what you think about Hammersmith Academy. The information provided is used by Ofsted to decide which schools to inspect and when. Please register and submit your views by visiting the Parent View website.
