7 – 11 Business

This course is for anyone who is interested in Business. It is both active and enjoyable. You need to be a good communicator and be able to explain your ideas. You should not be afraid of learning new things but instead be a creative thinker.

Course Content:

This course consists of 2 Themes studied over 2 years:

Theme 1 – Investigating a small business

This unit concentrates on key business ideas. Exploring the issues and developing the skills involved in starting and running a small business. It provides a framework for to students to explore core concepts from an entrepreneurial perspective. Students will develop an understanding of business activity such as operations, finance, marketing and human resources.

Theme 2 – Building a business

This unit builds on theme 1 by examining how a business develops beyond the start-up phase. It focuses on key business concepts, issues and decisions used to grow a business, with emphasis on marketing, operations, finance and human resources. Students will also be introduced to national and global business contexts and consider how they impact businesses differently.
