Key Stage 4 Options
When students reach Year 8 at Hammersmith Academy, they and their parents will begin the process of deciding which subjects they wish to take in Year 9 and into their GCSE studies. To help students and their parents decide which subjects will be suitable options, the Academy holds an Options Evening where staff from all the academic departments are on hand to provide guidance and answer any questions that they may have.
Options Booklet
Students and parents receive an Options Booklet which outlines the option choices available to them. Within this document you will find detailed course information for each of the subjects, including a breakdown of the GCSE course and the coursework and examination requirements.
Options Presentation
In addition to receiving the Options Booklet, students and staff received a presentation from Mr Lisseman, Associate Headteacher, covering the new 9-1 GCSE grading system, how to get the most from a student’s modular report and option choices. The presentation is available to download here:
