Assessment breakdown:

There are three components:

• Component 01 written exam weighted at 40%
• Component 02 and 03 coursework each weighted at 30% each

Data Manipulation and Project Management are vital skills for success in employment and higher education and are among the key transferable skills required by employers. The Cambridge National in Information Technologies develops students understanding of these skills through the development of creative products to solve real world data problems. Taking this qualification will prepare your child for a career in a data driven future.

The course also contains some advanced mathematical concepts including an understanding of the use of number bases, e.g. binary and hexadecimal notation. Students will need to be able to understand the concepts behind binary arithmetic and base number conversions, and to manipulate and link various programming concepts such as data types, string manipulation, program flow control, functions, procedures and error handling.

• Understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of IT, including the use of IT in the digital world, Internet of Everything, data manipulation and Augmented Reality.
• Develop learning and practical skills that can be applied to real-life contexts and work situations.
