The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors
The JLT are a key component of HA’s dedication to providing a safe and positive learning environment for our students. Who better to advice on how to tackle bullying and negative behaviour within the school than students themselves?
Not only do the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors come up with initiatives within the Academy such as the Safe Space, where students can go and find refuge or calm down, but they take a leading part in training other schools and passing on their ideas and knowledge.
Students took a leading part in an anti-bullying training day for other schools across the country.
They ran a leadership and student council training session with Greenside primary school.
As part of the relationship between the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors and the Diana Award, Nedal Harris (then Year 9) was invited to a special lunch with none other than Prince William.
Nedal said: “It was really nerve-wracking at first but he’s such a nice, down to earth, funny guy”. This is the second time Nedal has met the Duke of Cambridge, after his visit to Hammersmith Academy in 2015. “I didn’t get to talk to him last time he was at HA but this time I got to talk directly to him and give him my point of view”.
