Facilities

Hammersmith Academy is a modern state-of-the-art school, fully equipped to provide students with an education and skillset in readiness for a competitive future.

The Academy’s emphasis on technology is evident with a full Mac Media Suite, two ICT teaching rooms, a radio/recording studio and a Drama Studio complete with green-screen and recording equipment.

The Sixth Form Centre is a dedicated space for our Sixth Form students and where the Sixth Form Team are based. There are two IT hubs for private study and a communal space for group work or as a general meeting space in between lessons.

Our specialist classrooms include two large Design Technology teaching workshops complete with 3D Printing technology and laser cutting equipment, two Art Rooms and an entire floor dedicated to Science containing four laboratory classrooms and prep rooms.

The standout sports facilities are our large Sports Hall which caters for sports including netball, basketball, badminton and trampolining. Our outdoor Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) is both a teaching and recreational space. Students who enjoy personal fitness can take advantage of the Academy’s large and fully-equipped gym.

A fully retractable 350 seat theatre is home to assemblies, drama productions and events.

Students and staff use the large dining space right in the heart of the Academy building daily.

Student well-being and personal development are just as important here at the Academy. Unusually for an inner London school, we have a RHS award winning garden which students tend to at tutor time, as well as a smaller rooftop gardening space. The garden is home to our chickens and are cared for year round by our students, staff and volunteers.
