Aims & Ethos
The Department of Mathematics’ aim is to maximise and fulfil the potential of all students, both in terms of examination results and by equipping them with the skills needed for everyday life.
We will provide stimulating and engaging lessons that challenge students to achieve their full potential across the full ability range. Students will be taught to:
- recall and use knowledge of the prescribed content
- select and apply mathematical methods in a range of contexts
- interpret and analyse problems and generate strategies to solve them
All classrooms will be equipped with interactive whiteboards and we will have dedicated laptops. Technology will be used to enhance teaching and learning in a variety of ways.
