Letter from the Chairman

A letter from our Chairman of Governors

Welcome to Hammersmith Academy, a brand new school designed for the 21st century with roots in hundreds of years of City of London tradition.

As an all-ability mixed school with its own sixth form, our mission is to develop the talents of all students to the full and to raise educational standards. We achieve this through applying the very best practise and the innovative use of information technology.

We are very fortunate to have two outstanding sponsors; a partnership between the City's premier Livery company, the Mercers' and the 100th, the Information Technologists' Company. The Mercers' have been active in education for centuries, across schools ranging from the leading, independent St. Paul's Schools, to one of the country's best performing state schools, Thomas Telford School. The Information Technologists' Company has over 600 members, all of whom are leaders in the field of technology, of which Hammersmith Academy will be able to take full advantage, from mentoring and advice to high quality work experience opportunities.

We hope that your Academy will be at the heart of the community and, working in partnership with you, we are determined to make Hammersmith Academy an inspirational place where our students can create their future and succeed to their full potential.

We look forward with you to a bright future at Hammersmith Academy.

Tom Ilube
Chairman

Our watchwords are Inspire, Create, Succeed. We aim to provide an inspiring, but disciplined and orderly environment for students. We look for a shared commitment by students, staff and parents to the value of learning and creativity. We present the challenge of high academic and behavioural success.
