Humanities

In Humanities we seek to develop students’ awareness of the world they live in. We do this by offering a range of subjects tackling past and contemporary issues. In addition to studying the physical construction of the earth we also look at how humans have behaved to shape our society to what it is today.

We have a variety of subjects available at all key stages:

  • Key Stage 3 – History and Geography
  • Key Stage 4 – Business Studies, Leisure and Tourism, History and Geography
  • Post 16 – Psychology, Government and Politics, Business Studies, History and Geography.

We will also be offering BTECs in various subjects.

The emphasis in the faculty is on encouraging students to become independent thinkers and learners, to thoroughly prepare them for the challenges life will offer. Experiences outside the classroom are key to achieving this and each of the subjects offers many different extra-curricular opportunities and visits.
