Business Studies

Aims & Ethos

The Business Studies Department aims to provide all those students studying the subject with a varied and stimulating environment so that their experience is both interesting and educational.

It is important that the subject offers an insight into the complex nature of all types of business ownership as well as the external factors that play an increasingly influential role in their success or failure.

The provision of an industry mentor will give students a chance to interact, learn and seek advice from someone who has real world knowledge of business.

The teaching of the subject should also give the students an opportunity to develop a variety of skills such as critical thinking, time management, problem solving and self evaluation. When they have completed the course these skills should then enable them to be much more confident and better prepared for their life away from Hammersmith Academy.
