Music at Hammersmith Academy aims for students to gain the confidence to perform to others, read and write music, play both solo and in collaboration with others and compose their own material. Students will specifically focus on performance techniques in a range of styles such as Reggae, Gamelan, Pop and Hip Hop, and contexts, helping them to build listening, composing and performance techniques.
In Music we love to perform but students will additionally study areas of music history, theory, analysis and compositional skills. We use Garageband, Logic Pro and Sibelius in our music tech suite.
