7-11 Business Studies

People are definitely a company’s greatest asset. It doesn’t make any difference whether the product is cars or cosmetics. A company is only as good as the people it keeps.

Mary Kay Ash (entrepreneur)

GCSE

Exam Board: AQA

Qualification: 1 GCSE in Business

Assessment breakdown: Two written examinations (40% and 35%) and one controlled assessment (25%).

You will be introduced to the world of small businesses and what makes someone a successful business person. You will find out how to develop an idea and spot an opportunity, and turn that into a successful business.

We look at the role of the entrepreneur and the challenges facing business start-ups and how business behaviours can be studied from the perspectives of a range of stakeholders including customers, shareholders and employees.
In addition, we will consider the economic, environmental, ethical, legal, social and technological issues associated with business activity.
